Painting Supervisor

THE PRAIRIE REGION:
The Prairie Region Industrial Division works with industrial clients to meet their construction needs in various industry sectors. We provide civil, electrical, structural, and mechanical construction services using a skilled trades workforce.
THE POSITION:
Reporting to the Project Manager, the Painting Supervisor would be responsible for the daily supervision of work crews and the maintenance of acceptable production levels on large commercial construction projects.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Completion of daily logs;
- Documentation of daily material usage;
- Ensuring efficient use of resources (labor, materials and equipment);
- Completion of Labor, Equipment and Material sheets for client signature (cost-reimbursable projects);
- Quality Assurance:
- Ensure that work complies with specifications;
- Monitor quality of work in order to identify, correct and eliminate deficiencies;
- Document deficiencies and corrective action taken;
- Safety:
- Train workers, as well as monitor adherence to safe work practices, policies and procedures;
- Conduct and document daily toolbox safety meetings;
- Participate in Field Level Risk Assessments (FLRA's);
- Communication of policies, practices and procedures to crewmembers.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
- Past supervisory experience, as well as experience on large commercial projects, bridges or high-rises;
- 10 to 15 years experience spray painting with airless equipment;
- NACE certification would be considered an asset;
- Proven organizational skills in order to meet multiple deadlines and handle multiple tasks within a high-pressure work environment;
- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills.
Based in Calgary, Alberta, this is a full-time position. This posting will remain open until a suitable candidate is selected.
